The short version: our calculators run in your browser and don't send us what you type. We only collect your email address if you ask us to send you something, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
Who we are
House Maths runs housemaths.com and is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: support@housemaths.com.
Calculators
Our calculators work entirely in your browser. The prices, rents and other figures you enter are not sent to us or stored by us. If you share a calculator link, the figures in the link's address are visible to whoever you share it with.
Email sign-ups
When you sign up for a free guide or our email, we collect:
- your email address
- what you asked for, which page you asked on, and whether you ticked the box for our weekly email
- the date and time you gave consent, and the wording you agreed to
We use your address to send the thing you asked for, such as a guide or a launch alert, because you requested it. We only send our weekly email if you ticked the separate box for it, which is your consent. Getting a guide never depends on signing up for the weekly email. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by emailing us. After you unsubscribe we keep your address on a suppression list only so we don't email you again.
Analytics
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies, doesn't store anything on your device and doesn't track you
across sites. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't set cookies of our own. To opt out of being counted, block
static.cloudflareinsights.com with any content blocker, or turn on your browser's tracking protection.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare hosts this site, handles requests to it, and stores sign-ups (in Workers KV).
- Our email service provider sends our emails and stores the subscriber list. We'll name it here before we send our first email.
These providers act only on our instructions. Some of them may process data outside the UK, under safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep data
If you asked only for a guide, we keep your address for 12 months so we can email you the guide and any corrections to it, and then it's deleted automatically. If you ticked the box for our weekly email, we keep it while you're subscribed. Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your message, and no longer than two years.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@housemaths.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
